When they need help...
How we can help when your cat is unwell or injured
If your cat is unwell or injured whilst in our care, you can rest assured we will seek veterinary care as soon as possible.

If we feel your pet is unwell, we will usually contact you to seek permission to see a vet. In an emergency, you can expect us to act first and talk to you second.

We may at times feel your pet has a health issue, that may or may not need vet attention. In this case we will endeavour to inform you and ask what you would like us to do.
For this reason, it is important that you tell us of any unusual behaviour that is considered normal for your cat, so we are able to make better decisions on their care.

Charges

If your cat needs veterinary attention whilst in the care of The Cat Lady, we do not charge for transporting to the vets or the time we are there with your cat. However, if further vet visits are needed whilst you are still away, you will be charged at our usual hourly rate.
ALL vet fees are the client's responsibility at all times. This includes out of hours care which currently costs in the region of £300 for a consultation alone.

Medication

If, as a result of receiving vet attention, your cat needs new medication and/or other treatment. The charges are as follows:
Medications mixed with food - No additional charge
Oral administration - £2 per dose
Creams / Drops / Bathing / Dressing Changes - £2 per treatment

24hr Supervision

Unfortunately The Cat Lady cannot offer overnight visits, or constant supervision in the event that your cat becomes unwell. In these cases, you are advised to either board at the vets, or have a friend or family member take over care. We will always do what we can to help where we can. Any additional visits will be charged at our usual rate.

Pet Taxi

We can on occasion, transport your cat to the vet when they are not in our care, if needed. We charge our usual hourly rate for this service plus £10. This service is available for registered clients only.
